“The effortlessly radiant spell of Days reaffirms this lo-fi pop-rock outfit as one of the best bands in the indie circuit.” – The New York Times
“The ideal soundtrack for the summer.” – The Sydney Morning Herald
After a sold out tour around Golden Plains Festival early 2012, Real Estate make their anticipated return to Australia as a five piece for the 2013 Laneway Festival. They are set to appear exclusively at the festival, playing all shows right across the country.
Martin Courtney, Alex Bleeker and Matthew Mondanile were long-time friends, barely home from college when they formed a band in 2008. They’d shared a childhood in the Garden State and wrote songs for their postcode, charting Ridgewood’s suburban dreary with a bemused sense of wonder and appreciation.
Their two albums – 2009’s self-titled debut and the latest “Days” – are imbued with warmth, characterized by their timelessness and distinguished by skilful instrumental restraint.
The band’s expansive live show is breezy and nostalgic, making disarmingly simple pop sound unexpectedly profound.
With a gorgeous suite of songs to their name, we warmly welcome Real Estate back to Australia this January.
